Standard Bank Learnerships is a 12-month structured learning programme that combines theoretical and on the job training. The programme is aimed at unemployed youth with a Grade 12 or equivalent qualification who are interested in a career in banking. Successful candidates will be placed in various entry-level positions in Standard Bank branches across South Africa.

The Standard Bank Learnerships 2022 will provide successful candidates with an opportunity to:

Who Can Apply for the Standard Bank Learnerships

The Standard Bank Learnerships are available to students who are studying towards a National Diploma or Degree at a South African institution. There are a few requirements that candidates must meet before they can apply for a Standard Bank Learnership, these include:
  • Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 30.
  • Candidates must be South African citizens or have a valid work permit.
  • Candidates must have passed Grade 12 with Maths and English as subjects.
  • Candidates must not have any previous working experience in the banking sector.

  • A successful candidate will have the opportunity to acquire real-world experience in solution design, delivery, maintenance, and processing in the investment banking industry

Learnerships for consumers and high net worth individuals

  • As part of this programme, you will have a chance to gain real-world work experience in transactional banking and customer interaction with a particular focus on sales and service for these sectors

Learnerships for Corporate Functional Areas

  • Upon successful completion of this program, successful candidates will be able to provide objective assessments of business systems, processes, and organizations. A major component of the program encompasses knowledge of how to provide objective information to senior leaders and governing bodies regarding a number of issues, including risks, operational effectiveness, legal compliance, and the environment in which control takes place.

  • Provide practical and theoretical knowledge while working with leading minds about the future of banking and platform business.

  • Obtain feedback from developers and work closely with them on writing app customizations, developing testing/debugging frameworks, and enhancing the capabilities of the application

  • Develop the core skills necessary for designing and developing custom Salesforce applications

Who should apply?

In order to be considered for this role, a candidate must be able to meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:

  • A minimum GPA of 60% is required (Grade 12) or a three-year post-matric qualification is preferred (depending on the position).
