How do I find a job if I don’t have any experience?
If I don’t have any work history, how can I get hired?
It might seem impossible to get a job if you have never worked before. No matter how much experience you have, there are things you can do to improve your chances of getting a job.
Learn something
You can learn something new at any age. Start with a short course. This is the best way to do it. Find the field you want to work in and learn as much as you can about it. Our distance learning courses are great because you can build on what you’ve learned as you go.
Don’t be afraid to start from the bottom
Sometimes you have to work for little or no money to get hands-on experience. This can be done through volunteer work or an internship in the same field. It might not sound perfect, but it is a good way to get a job.
Network
Sometimes knowing someone who works there is the best way to find a job. This is why you should stay in touch with or meet people who work in your field of interest. Let people know that you are actively looking for a job and that you have the qualifications or experience needed.
Change your resume
Add new skills and experiences to your CV as you get them. Make sure your CV is always up to date and fits the jobs you’re applying for. Employers will notice your CV more if it shows off your skills and talents. – Source
