The opportunity
- AHP 4.1 role earning $105,479- $116,550 per year plus super.
- Deliver targeted psychosocial and multi-systemic needs-based programs for children and young people.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement evidence based clinical assessments enabling rehabilitative outcomes.
- Provide guidance and support to a team of Behaviour Support Specialists, Youth Justice Workers and other staff delivering rehabilitative services at Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct.
The Clinician, Child and Adolescent Practice provides evidence-based clinical assessments and delivers targeted criminogenic and non-criminogenic programs on an individual or group basis to children and young people as part of our overarching rehabilitation services model.
The role also gives specialist advice to a team of behaviour support specialists, youth justice workers and an extended operations team to create best practice outcomes. Further responsibilities include completing case notes and preparing treatment plans and risk assessment reports for internal and external stakeholders.
An exciting part of the role is research and analysis to improve practice and responsiveness as part of our specialist clinical portfolio area. Key responsibilities for this involve leading initiatives and managing child safe standards by providing guidance and expertise on child and adolescent development, interventions and policy.
To be successful in the role, you will have knowledge of key issues impacting youth justice with experience working directly with children and young people.
Qualifications Required
- Eligibility for general registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); or
- Eligiblity for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW); or
- Credentials as a Mental Health Nurse and eligibility for registration with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; or
- Eligibility for registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
