Pan African University (PAU) Scholarships for South African Students – 2024 Academic Year

Overview: The African Union Commission is offering scholarships for the Pan African University (PAU) programs for the 2024 academic year. PAU is a prestigious network of universities in Africa committed to providing high-quality postgraduate education to contribute to the development of a prosperous, integrated, and peaceful continent. These scholarships are open to young, talented Africans, including members of the African diaspora, who wish to pursue Master’s or PhD degrees at any of the four PAU institutes.

Deadlines: The application deadline is September 10, 2023. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
Fields of Study: PAU offers various Master’s and PhD programs at its four institutes. The programs are in fields such as Basic Sciences, Technology, and Innovation; Life and Earth Sciences; Governance, Humanities, and Social Sciences; Water and Energy Sciences, including Climate Change. Specific programs are listed under each institute.
Eligibility Criteria:
For Master’s Applicants:
- Must be under 30 years of age for male applicants and under 35 years of age for female applicants.
- Should hold an undergraduate degree from a recognized university, with at least a second-class upper division or its equivalent in a relevant field.
For PhD Applicants:
- Must be under 35 years of age for male applicants and under 40 years of age for female applicants.
- Should have a Master’s degree in a relevant field from PAU or any internationally recognized university.
Scholarship Benefits: The PAU scholarships cover the following:
- Full tuition fees.
- Living expenses.
- Medical insurance.
Please note that successful applicants will be responsible for covering all other costs and expenses not covered by the scholarship.
